Kennedi Westbrook has defied the odds. Statistically, she was destined to fail. However, she proved the statistics wrong by becoming a sought-after psychiatrist and the owner of Healthy Minds, a counseling and psychiatric practice in downtown Atlanta. To many, she embodies the ideal woman, but this perception overlooks her most significant affliction—her mental illness.

Kennedi’s husband, Mitchell, is wealthy, business savvy, well-groomed, and confident. However, he grapples with major issues. Although he could not desire a better family and lifestyle, his perception has clouded his judgment, prompting him to question if he still has it. Far removed from the dating game, Mitchell makes an impulsive decision to flirt with danger, jeopardizing his most valued possession—his family.

Young, beautiful, and alluring, Sydney was unemployed, insecure, and nearly homeless before meeting the father of her unborn twins. Now, her struggles involve learning to adapt to her new reality and figuring out how to rekindle the flame that has been extinguished between them. Determined to avoid life as a single mother, she will do anything to live on her terms. Each of the three has close friends with different perspectives, secrets, and influences, complicating all situations.

On the Inside Looking Out is a whirlwind of blackouts, nightmares, abuse, jealousy, broken spirits, secrets, and lies that won’t cease until perceptions and perspectives are challenged.
