After Trent Marston’s prophetic dreams allow him to save Princess Victoria from undead assassins, he learns it was her father, the king, who tried to have her killed. To protect her, he must flee the army he once served and, on Victoria’s behalf, gather allies to retake her throne.

Now the chief of his own tribe, Trent Marston must blaze a new trail. After he uncovers the ancient monastery that was once Ruby’s home, Trent finds a haven from his pursuers. But before he, Bethany, and Ruby can enjoy the respite, they encounter the man responsible for turning Ruby into a mageblade. The Enchanter is still alive, and he demands a high price for shelter.

Through strength, guile, and diplomacy, Trent Marston has secured a magical fortress and paved the way to return his exiled princess to her throne. Now, alongside his loyal huntress, bubbly mageblade, and a beautiful hex mage, he must journey to the distant Cridor Republic and find Princess Victoria. Before he can bring Victoria home, however, Trent must thwart a devious insurgent plot against the ancient Primal Academy. If he fails, his nation could be catapulted into war with its neighbors.

After Trent Marston reunites with Princess Victoria and secures her base of operations, Victoria receives an urgent missive from Princess Ivy of the necromancer nation of Corrin. Ivy now feels Corrin has lost its way, and after years of war with Dalry and Hesia, the death mage princess wishes to forge a new alliance with Victoria... but only if Victoria’s agents can free her from imprisonment in a remote magic academy.

As Princess Victoria prepares to reclaim her throne, Trent Marston learns the location of an enchanted magebow lost centuries ago. Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire’s foster sister, has re-emerged in the hands of the enemy. If Trent can find her, he’ll have another powerful ally on his side.

Trent Marston has survived situations that would have killed a lesser man. But when an unexpected tragedy steals away a member of his loyal tribe, he’ll stop at nothing to get her back. With the aid of Emerald, a warrior and tracker with hundreds of years of battle experience, and the rest of his loyal and beautiful tribe, Trent will finally take the war to the devils who’ve threatened his realm.

To put his princess back on the throne, Trent Marston has faced down a corrupt king, shadow creatures, devil mages, and even an assassin from a nightmare realm. With his enemies now reeling and his allies aligned, Trent makes ready to lead the final strike that will liberate his nation. Yet the peril facing Trent's people is far worse than he thought, and a mass murder of millions is far closer than he knows.
