How does a kid who can barely ride a horse, and who’s better with his fists and a team of mules than a six-shooter, think he can track and kill the most notorious killer on the Plains? Simple: Cuno Massey's thirst for revenge runs deep. Deeper than his skills. But when Rolf Anderson and Sammy Spoon killed the young man’s step-mother and his father, nothing would stand in young Cuno’s way.

One day, cold-blooded killers stole the life of Cuno Massey's young, expectant bride. Now, Cuno realizes his fate - and with his .45 in hand, he's going to make certain the killers realize theirs. Because if there's one thing Cuno has come to thirst for, it's the bittersweet taste of revenge.

It’s hard living on the Colorado frontier — especially when you’ve got a bounty on your head. Ever since Cuno Massey killed Vince Evans, the no-good son of wealthy rancher Franklin Evans, men have been hunting his head for its sizeable bounty. Men like the big bear of a bounty hunter, Ruben Pacheca, the most fearsome tracker of them all, who robs and rapes as he hunts. And it’s anyone’s guess whether Cuno’s new love, a sassy outlaw named Marlene, will be his savior or his destruction in beautiful disguise....

Life’s been pretty good for Cuno Massey since he went into the freight business with Wade Scanlon. Good, that is, until Scanlon stops in at a saloon and gets shot dead by a band of outlaws. When Massey comes upon his friend in a pine box with his freight wagon plundered and burned, he has one goal: to find the killers.

Cuno Massey is determined to start a new, peaceful life. But when he comes across a prison wagon under attack, he can’t just ride on. A gang of outlaws is hell-bent on granting four hardened convicts an early release, and with two other lawmen down, the marshal is badly outnumbered. Dispensing frontier justice from the barrel of his Colt .45, Cuno does his best to even the odds and keep the murderous animals where they belong — in their cage. But the trail is long, and the gang is relentless. Looks like Cuno has just signed on for the ride of his life.

Cuno Massey had always stayed on the good side of the law. But he’d never found himself stuck in the middle of a feud between a weary old rancher and a band of Indians hungry for revenge. With warring braves surrounding the ranch and a doomed man begging for help, Cuno’s the only rider left who stands a chance to save the rancher’s daughter from a savage massacre.

Cuno Massey killed those deputy US marshals all right, but only because they were about to rape the women he was escorting to safety. Thrown into a federal penitentiary, he faces a death sentence - until the beautiful Camilla and her cutthroat gang bust him out and head for the Mexican border. Pursued by lawmen as brutal as the desperadoes he travels with, Cuno rides a bloody trail, unsure where his allegiances lie, and wondering if he was better off waiting for the gallows....

Cuno Massey may be a federal fugitive, but he’s Deputy US Marshal Spurr Morgan’s best chance to run down a gang of gunrunners. A wagon train of rifles, ammunition, Gatling guns, and dynamite was stolen by US Cavalry deserters who intend to sell the weapons to a Mexican general waging war against Yaqui Indians. To even the odds against them, Cuno and Spurr form an alliance with Ojos de Fuega — “Fire Eyes” — a Yaqui queen as savage as she is beautiful, and her band of renegades.
