John Cutter, a human man in a predominantly non-human metropolis, turns out to be not quite as human as he gave himself credit for. His daily life as dorm manager for Mythstone University gets turned upside down when he begins developing strange powers, and before you know it, he's spicily entangled with way too many girls.

John Cutter has been forced to take a job managing the dormitories of his alma mater, Mythstone University, after graduating just a few months ago with a degree in Elven Literature. Things were pretty boring for him until the blood powers of his distant Incubus heritage start to awaken within him, giving him supernatural charm among other powers and perks.

John Cutter has sure got a lot on his plate. With a demonic incursion into Horcross City centered on his home, mother-daughter drama he's in the middle of, his baby dragons hatching, and his widely opposed coronation in the Sixth Circle of Hell, you should probably think twice before envying him. Sure, he's got the hottest harem of angels, demons, elves, half-orcs, goblins, and monster girls around, but.... No, wait. It still makes sense to envy him.

The State of Play is a call to consider the high stakes of video game culture and how our digital and real lives collide. Here, video games are not hobbies or pure recreation; they are vehicles for art, sex, and race and class politics. The 16 contributors are entrenched - they are the video game creators themselves, media critics, and Internet celebrities. They share one thing: They are all players at heart, handpicked to form a superstar roster by Daniel Goldberg and Linus Larsson.

John Cutter, recently promoted to official heir of the Sixth Circle of Hell, is about to have his world rocked by the annual Festival of Motherhood! Mythstone University has a special event for one weekend every year, and mommies from all over Horcross City visit their sons and daughters attending university there. As the director of his dormitory, John is going to play host to all the mothers of the ladies in his harem, and you can bet your big ol' booty that that's going to get messy.

In this exciting addition to the Incubus RA franchise, John Cutter finds himself romancing his way through the afterlife and facing all new perils in Horcross City. But is this the end of our hero? Obviously not! Fan-favorite ladies return, and interesting new characters are introduced for the very first time. From vampiric Dusk Elves to angels, demons, goblins, and more, John is ready and willing to stick his key in every lock to do right by his girls.

John Cutter has lived a blessed life since his most recent birthday, but his luck just might be running out. Sure, he's got the hottest harem of monster girls, demons, half-orcs, half-angels, and elves anyone could imagine, but he's also got necromancer drama, a murder to cover up, and a dungeon to delve. It's not all easy living in the day-to-day existence of a budding young Incubus Lord!
