The fact that she’s a werecat is just something she’s had to live with Alone in her territory, she’s lived a secretive life for six years: under the radar, avoiding her past and the baggage that comes with it. Trouble finds Jacky, though, in the form of an 11-year-old girl and a werewolf turf war just outside her borders. Forced to honor an ancient treaty and the Laws of the supernatural world, Jacky swears an oath to protect Carey Everson, the human daughter of a local werewolf Alpha from Dallas.
I’m going to host a gathering of werecats to discuss the recent changes in our small world, changes I brought about for the most part. I told Hasan I would handle this and I am going to, even if he doesn’t believe in me.
I’m Jacqueline, daughter of Hasan, ruling werecat of the Americas, the werecat liaison to humanity, and the lover of Heath Everson, Alpha werewolf. But I go by Jacky Leon, and no one knows about the werewolf. Some time ago, I met a fae and his family while on the run. They helped me, and for his own reasons, the fae had given me a gift. I never went looking for him. I knew the name he gave me and I did my best not to think too hard about it, him, or his family. Life has a fun way of bringing things back, because he's the lost king of the fae and now everyone knows.
My duty to my family is simple. Help maintain order and uphold the law for my werecat father, Hasan, a member of the Tribunal. But I’ve always had a defiant streak. To do what’s right, I’m willing to throw the law out the window and turn my back on everything I’ve been told. Everyone around me knows I’m willing to risk everything for what I believe in. All I can hope is that my beliefs and the law don’t clash again. Because I have another duty. A duty to blood. A duty to the bond between those who once shared a face and a life.
Eleven years at the FBI taught me two things—how to stay alive when a gun is pointed at my head, and that I never want to work for anyone else ever again. When I moved to Atlanta and started my own PI firm, I swore I’d never make my living chasing down missing or philandering spouses. But the rent is due, so when a woman knocked on my door and offered me a boatload of money to track down her missing husband who helped himself to a family heirloom on his way out, I had a hard time saying no. Seemed like easy money.
Jacky Leon got away with it. She defended a little human girl, made a few unlikely acquaintances, and survived to tell the tale. Now she’s the only werecat in the supernatural community who can say a small family of werewolves lives in her borders. That isn’t a good thing, though. As news of her heritage and relation to Hasan becomes more well known, Jacky finds herself in the spotlight, slammed with guilt over recent werecat problems and her duty as a daughter of Hasan.
I live a happy life. I have a lover that I am quickly falling for. I have friends and family that rely on me to keep my territory safe and secure for them. My bar’s business is booming. But I’ve made enemies, some that I know and some that I don’t. Hate for me and the life I’m building is creeping in the darkness. Hate can be insidious. It can stain the purest of hearts and fog the sharpest of minds. It can come from the most unlikely of places.
My husband killed me. Instead of spending my immortal afterlife pissed off and angry, I moved on. I became someone. Sure, that someone was a demon with the highest track record of reform, a.k.a. punishment, in Hell. But who’s bragging? Everything was going fine...until the Risk Witches saw a terrible vision. Three men. Each scarred in their own way, born with powers that haven’t been seen in eons. Upper management sent the best to correct their path. Angels. Poltergeists. Nothing worked. These men were too stubborn. Too bad. Too untamed...so they sent me.
I can't believe Logan's been my partner for over a year. Actually, he's been more than that for half as long. I know he'll always have my back. But when a routine monster eviction goes horribly wrong, he's furious that I didn't run when I had the chance.
I have one rule: Never mix business with pleasure. I was never much good at following rules. Alright, so my new partner isn’t the worst. It doesn’t hurt that Logan is big, tall, and smokin’ hot. I started out hating him, but this human hunk is starting to grow on me….when we’re not fighting like cats and dogs. Even our coworker thinks there’s something going on between us. Is there something between us? Humans like him and faeries like me don’t usually click, but we’re on a case in Arizona and things are getting pretty freakin’ hot.
Got a faerie problem? I’m your girl. Magic gone awry? Not a problem. But when kids go missing and the search comes up dry, my boss decides I need a partner. Now I have a problem. As a field agent in the FBI's ultra-elite Occult Crimes Division, a.k.a. the OCD, it’s my job to investigate cases of the magical variety. I’m the best at it, but it seems my employer doesn’t share my confidence when he pairs me up with the bureau's newest golden boy. Turns out he's the biggest tool I've ever met. Logan Hawthorne. Arrogant. Attractive as hell. Oh yeah—and human.
The world knows me as Jacqueline, daughter of Hasan, the werecat that fell in love with a werewolf. I prefer Jacky Leon, and I knew what I was getting into when I allowed myself to fall in love with Heath Everson. We’re standing against centuries of animosity between the two species, and it’s a dangerous place to be. I’m checking the shadows, and securing my territory, making sure no one can sneak up on us. Heath is keeping his eyes on more obvious problems. Something bad is going to happen. And the problems we face are much more nefarious than we could have bargained for.
During the day, the heat of June clashes with the start of the rainy season, while at night, the fragrance of damp leaves flows through the open window. But the coming of summer does little to warm Lily’s spirits. As the world turns slower than it did yesterday, a new emptiness appears which the vibrant colours fail to fill.
A precocious young girl with an unusual imagination is sent on an odyssey into the depths of depravity. After her father dies violently, young Mara is surprised to find her mother welcoming a new guest into their home, claiming that he will protect them from the world of devastation and destruction outside their door.
My dreams of retirement crashed and burned when the rogue shifter bit me. Not only have I changed into something neither world has ever seen before, but my mission just became even more impossible. To find the answers about what I am, I enlist the help of an infamous ex-poltergeist, a shifter freak, and my least favorite pigeon. What a team we make. Oh, and did I forget to mention that my mate’s bloodthirsty daughter is awake and hunting my ass now? Because that’s a thing, too. Why? I have no idea, but we have every intention of finding out.
