THE NECRONOMICON OF SHERLOCK HOLMES finds the Great Detective pitting his legendary skills against sinister cults, shambling shadows and malevolent madmen in these twenty-two tantalizing tales spanning two terrifying tomes. Mystery and madness await!

Imagine a slight change to our historical timeline where the Industrial Revolution heated up much quicker than expected. Technological marvels such as airships, trains, battleships, and submarines came into being much earlier. They were followed by steam-powered wonders such as mechanical men, flying ships, and even crafts capable of reaching the deepest fathoms of the sea or traveling to distant celestial orbs.

As Carnacki the Ghost Finder, the famous literary occult detective, once said: “I view all reported ‘hauntings’ as unproven until I have examined into them, and I am bound to admit that ninety-nine cases out of a hundred turn out to be sheer bosh and fancy.” In this book, a range of contemporary authors explore 'what happens next' when the Great Detective confronts mysteries which question reason.

In this book, a range of contemporary authors explore 'what happens next' when the Great Detective confronts mysteries which question reason. A summons from Irene Adler’s daughter; a chance encounter with one of Houdini’s fraud investigators; the enigma of Dr John Silence. Mysterious events at Mary Morstan’s old school, and a threat to Queen Victoria. The return of the German agent Von Bork, somewhat changed, and a desperate hunt for a killer through the alleys of London with none other than Professor Van Helsing.

For all we know, or think we know, about Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, what we don’t know is far, far greater. In the duo’s first case, A Study in Scarlet, we learn that Holmes and Watson met on January 1st, 1881, and subsequently moved into an apartment together at 221b Baker Street. Their first case officially began on March 4th of that year, and it is argued that “The Adventure of the Resident Patient” possibly took place in October of 1881, depending on which version of the story you read. But what happened during the rest of 1881? Or all of 1882?

“We can but try,” declares Sherlock Holmes and the game is afoot! In this exciting collection of adventures, Holmes pits his wits against crimes old and new. How did a priceless statue vanish from a museum in the dead of night? What makes Major Prendergast fear for his life at the Tankerville Club? Why does the death of a woman at sea put Holmes in deadly danger? What horrors lie in the innocent box delivered to Baker Street? And what happens when Watson takes on a case of his own–with mixed results!

High-ranking members of England’s socialist movement suspect that Karl Marx’s daughter “Tussy” may be in danger, but can give Holmes no reason as to what kind of danger, or why. Weeks later, Tussy is found dead, an apparent suicide. But why would she bother to change her clothes after drinking cyanide? Why would she leave on her muddy shoes? What happened to the glass and the envelope by her side? Past sins, scandalous relations and smouldering vengeance will all be revealed as Sherlock Holmes unravels the mystery of the Revolutionary’s Daughter!

Imagine Sherlock Holmes solving cases where the clues include a mysterious cask of Amontillado – the haunting cries of a raven – an unnerving asylum – a man’s uncanny doppelganger!
