The three books that compose this audiobook are collections of Gibran's aphorisms, parables, and poetic essays. The works include his masterpiece, The Prophet, The Forerunner, and The Madman.

Gibran's Jesus: The Son of Man is a portrayal of Christ through the eyes of His contemporaries - men and women who knew him as an enemy, friend, teacher, and Son.

The characters, including Mary Magdalen, Simon Peter, Pontius Pilate, and Barabbas are brought to life against the social, political, and religious realities of Palestine and Rome at that period.

A book of twenty-six poetic essays written in English, Kahlil Gibran’s Devdoot is full of religious inspirations. With the twelve illustrations drawn by the author himself, the book took more than eleven years to be formulated and perfected and is Gibran’s best-known work. It represents the height of his literary career as he came to be noted as 'the Bard of Washington Street.'

Feeling overwhelmed by everyday life? Confused and conflicted about your personal relationships? Or do you feel somehow incomplete, unfulfilled? The truth is we all experience doubts and negative thoughts about ourselves, our relationships, our lives. Shifting your mindset from negativity to one of inner peace and happiness can help you change your entire outlook about yourself, your relationships, your life. And you can learn all this from The Prophet.

Gibran considered The Prophet his greatest achievement. He said: "I think I've never been without The Prophet since I first conceived it in Mount Lebanon. It seems to have been a part of me....I kept the manuscript four years before I delivered it over to my publisher because I wanted to be sure, I wanted to be very sure, that every word of it was the very best I had to offer."

As with The Prophet, Sand and Foam was not only a success on initial publication but was also a must read for many of those in the counter-culture scene in the sixties. John Lennon even borrowed a couplet, with a slight alteration, for his famed song 'Julia'.

Khalil Gibran was a Lebanese poet, philosopher, artist, and writer, a genius of his age. His writing was revolutionary for his time. Rebellious Spirits is a collection of short stories that shake listeners out from the slumber of tradition and customs and incite them to rebellion against societal norms and earthly laws. These stories illustrate how the characters rebel against the laws and regulations imposed by authority to suppress the freedom of man.

Through his fiction, essays, poems, and art, Kahlil Gibran inspired a devoted international following and transformed modern Arabic literature. In this book, Joseph P. Ghougassian brings together the philosophical elements present across Gibran’s diverse writings, including his best-selling work The Prophet, as well as other significant works such as The Broken Wings, which tells the story of doomed young lovers, and the collection of aphorisms in Sand and Foam.

The prolific writings of Kahlil Gibran, author of The Prophet, continue to inspire a devoted international following and have transformed modern Arabic literature. In this volume of early writings, Gibran’s simple yet lyrical style crosses from prose to poetry and yields insight into his dedication and inner vision of beauty, including the tale of a strange hermit in “The Tempest”, the discovery of love lost to war in “The Mermaids”, and the long voyage of sea and soul in the prose poem “Between Night and Morn”.
