Oh hey. I'm just Lance, and this is my son Corbin. We do media analysis based on franchises and properties that mean a lot to us. I grew up watching a lot of really AMAZING media, and I wanted to find a way to break that down and share it with my son. Shows and movies have changed a lot in the time I've been alive -- some for the better, some for the worst. Generally speaking though, writing principles and good storytelling is timeless, which means I still have a job! We've talked at length about Invincible, The Addams Family, Avatar The Last Airbender, and Rick and Morty, and we're still not done. Plenty more content on the way, and if you are a part of that community, I want to hear what you want me to cover! I try to take an analytical approach, but I'll be honest, I'm an Italian from New York -- I get passionate sometimes when things are dumb. Join our community, and enjoy listening. Hopefully you get as much out of it as I put into it :)just lance and corbin Kunst

Was the MCU Phase 1 Really That Good?
    Oct 4 2026

Phase 1 is a mixed bag, that's for sure.

A video essay about The Marvel Cinematic Universe, and how Phase 1 holds up after so many years. The movies still are spectacular and I encourage anyone and everyone to watch them all in their entirety.

Netflix's Avatar Is So Disrespectful to the Original Show, Pt. 1
    Sep 21 2026

A video essay about Netflix's adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The show was literally my favorite growing up, and is still in my top 5 shows ever made, so the Netflix show had a lot to live up to in my mind. It did not live up to expectations.

This episode is only PART ONE, covering SEASON 1 episodes 1 - 4. Part 2 will be released very soon including the remaining episodes, 5 - 8.

... I'll probably do a season 2 video separately. Maybe. Haven't seen it yet. Dunno if I want to

INVINCIBLE SEASON 4 has me asking the REAL QUESTIONS.
    Aug 28 2026

A season so unique that everyone is trying to figure out if it's even good.

    (It's alright)

A YouTube Video Essay about Invincible season 4, and the initial thoughts, reactions, and ideas to consider when thinking about it in the future.

To be absolutely clear, this is NOT the comic comparison video. This is a preliminary analysis on some thoughts I had about the season that I had to get out of my head. None of my thoughts about this season are finalized, and there aren't any new themes to discuss (yet.) The comic comparison video will come eventually, sorry to all those who wanted it now. Good things come to those who wait :)
