Egypt saw Moses as a murderer and a shepherd, the lowest of the low. Then God asked him to set a nation free. In Exodus 3, Moses asks the question so many of us ask when God calls: who am I? God's answer isn't what you'd expect.
In This Episode:- Who Moses is in Egypt's eyes: murderer and shepherd
- Why "shepherd" meant the lowest of the low (a callback to Genesis 46)
- A bush that burns and isn't burned up
- Moses' question in verse 11: "Who am I?"
- God's answer in verse 12: "I will certainly be with you"
- The name in verse 14: "I AM WHO I AM"
- Why our qualification never comes from who we are
- What to do with your doubts
Key Quote:
"When God asks us to do something, our qualification never comes from who we are. It comes from who is with us."
