One day, life was normal. Then everything changed.
For years, Corey Mitchell proudly served his community as a police officer with the Columbia, South Carolina Police Department. He was a dedicated public servant, husband, father, and community leader.
But in 2020, what he initially believed might have been a simple spider bite led to a medical journey that would change his life forever. Corey Mitchell was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a chronic disease affecting the central nervous system.
For someone who had dedicated his life to protecting and serving others, he suddenly found himself facing a battle that no badge, uniform, or police training could prepare him for.
But Corey refused to let his diagnosis define his purpose. Instead, he turned his personal health challenge into a movement of hope, awareness, education, and support by establishing the Corey Mitchell Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, helping individuals and families affected by MS.
