What does it take to walk into a professional dance audition with confidence, stand out in the room, and give yourself the best chance to book the job?

In Episode 3 of Walking With Ran, professional dancer, choreographer, director, and teacher Karie Seasock shares the lessons she learned from a career in live entertainment, television, theme parks, and six years with the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

Karie talks about how young dancers should prepare for auditions, why positive body language matters before you ever dance a step, and how simple things like walking in with your head up, shoulders back, eye contact, confidence, and a smile can shape a first impression. She also explains why preparation, training, work ethic, reputation, and being easy to work with matter as much as talent. Her advice comes from being on both sides of the audition table—as a performer and as someone helping make casting decisions.

Her career has included professional theater, Disneyland Resort, a guest-star appearance on Disney Channel’s The Suite Life on Deck, and six years performing with the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. She also takes listeners behind the scenes of Radio City, including the intense rehearsal process, precision staging, and what really happens inside the famous Rockette kickline.

This episode is especially for young dancers, dance students, musical theater performers, parents, teachers, and anyone preparing for a professional dance audition who wants practical advice from someone who has lived the journey.

Topics include:

professional dance audition tips, how to prepare for a dance audition, audition confidence, stage presence, positive body language, dance training, casting advice, professional dancer careers, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Disney Channel, Disneyland entertainment, choreography, dance teaching, and mentoring the next generation.

Walking With Ran

Real Journeys | Real Advice | One Walk at a Time.

Presented by HINESight Entertainment.

In this episode of Walking With Ran, host Randy Hines walks the Huntington Beach cliffs with actor and stuntman Bryan McGowan for a real conversation about the grind behind stunt work, acting, live entertainment, and building a lasting career in the entertainment industry.

Bryan shares stories from nearly two decades in the business, including credits and work connected to Westworld, Magnum P.I., Rebel Moon, American Horror Story, Dave, Waterworld, Pirates Dinner Adventure, Universal Studios stunt shows, Disney live entertainment, and more.

This episode covers Bryan's path from choir and theater training to sword fighting, live stunt shows, fire burns, high falls, water work, fight choreography, and acting. He talks about the skills that helped him move from side jobs into full-time performance work, why live stunt shows teach adaptability, and why stunt performers have to train like professional athletes.

Bryan also shares some unforgettable behind-the-scenes stories, including working with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bad Bunny on a music video, getting kicked a little too low during a fight scene, setting up the Stone Cold Stunner, and learning to stay professional when the take doesn't go exactly as planned.

For anyone trying to break into stunts, acting, film, television, theme park entertainment, or live shows, Bryan gives honest advice on training, humility, reputation, networking, social media, editing your own reels, knowing what reads on camera, and never telling a stunt coordinator you can do something unless you already have the skill.

Real journeys. Real advice. One walk at a time.
