But as Los Angeles disappears behind them, Nikola realizes something she never expected:

For the first time in twenty years, the twins are together again—and Nick has a story of his own.

Nikola finally arrives at The Ninth Gate, an exclusive underground jazz club on Wilshire Boulevard, where she comes face-to-face with the mysterious Father Orpheus.

What begins as an unforgettable night of music quickly becomes something far more dangerous. After performing the song he secretly placed in her hands during rehearsal, Nikola experiences the thrill of the stage for the very first time as the audience chants her name.
