A rehearsal becomes the beginning of a dangerous secret.

As Nikola and Father Orpheus rehearse together, emotions neither can deny begin to surface. Before they part, he quietly slips her a note inviting her to meet him later that night at the Ninth Gate. Back in her room, Nikola prepares in secret, gathering the few belongings that connect her to the life she left behind before setting out into the night.
