Most of us know what it feels like to have a hard memory surface at the worst possible moment. What we don't always recognize is that repeated rumination over painful events can train the memory to keep that pain close and easy to recall, while the evidence of growth, faithfulness, and good things requires far more intentional effort to access. In this episode we talk about what it looks like when memory has been trained that way, how it happens, and what it quietly costs us in our healing and in our relationships.
This is not about blame or pretending painful things didn't happen. It is about recognizing that continuing to rehearse the pain does not heal the wound. You are the steward of your own mind, and that means you have more authority over what your memory keeps close than it may have felt like. Today we give you a starting point for using that authority.
