This episode is not about telling you that everything in life will magically becomebeautiful.

    It won't.

    Life doesn't work that way.

There will be days when you will laugh until your stomach hurts.

And there will be days when getting out of bed feels like an achievement.

There will be moments when everything seems to fall perfectly into place.

And there will be moments when you will wonder,

"Whyis everything going wrong at the same time?"

There will be people who stay.

There will be people who leave.

There will be dreams that come true.

And there will be dreams that you will have to let go of.

    Therewill be beginnings.

    Therewill be endings.

    Therewill be celebrations.

    Therewill be disappointments.

Therewill be days when you will feel incredibly proud of yourself.

And therewill be days when you will question whether you are good enough at all.

    Andsomewhere between all these moments...

    we live.

Thisbeautiful, confusing, unpredictable thing called life.

Andperhaps the biggest lesson life teaches us is not how to avoid the difficultdays.

Itteaches us how to keep walking through them.

    LIFE DOESN'T ALWAYS FOLLOWOUR PLAN

    We growup making plans.

    At five,we have innocent dreams.

Atfifteen, we think we know exactly what our future will look like.

Attwenty-five, we realise we probably don't.

    And thenlife continues surprising us.

    We makeplans for our careers.

    We makeplans for relationships.

    We makeplans for our families.

    We makefinancial plans.

    We makefive-year plans.

    Ten-yearplans.

    Sometimeseven twenty-year plans.

And thenlife looks at those plans and says...

"That'scute. But let me show you something else."

    [pause]

    A jobdoesn't work out.

    Arelationship ends.

    Someoneyou trusted disappoints you.

    Abusiness fails.

    A frienddisappears.

    Anopportunity goes to someone else.

A dreamtakes much longer than expected.

You workincredibly hard and still don't get the result you wanted.

    Andsometimes...

    you doeverything "right"...

andthings still don't go according to plan.

That'sone of the hardest realities to accept.

Andpeople who have done everything they could...

    sometimesstill lose.

    That'slife.

Andaccepting that doesn't mean becoming negative.

    It meansbecoming realistic.

Becausewhen we stop expecting life to be perfect, we become better prepared toappreciate it when it is beautiful.

    THE DAYS WHEN NOTHING MAKESSENSE

Maybeyou're listening to this on a day when life feels particularly heavy.

Maybenobody knows what you're going through.

    You smilewhen someone asks,

    "Howare you?"

    And youautomatically say,

    "I'mfine."

    Butyou're not.

    Notreally.

    Maybeyou're tired.

    Maybeyou're disappointed.

    Maybesomething didn't work out.

    Maybeyou're waiting for an answer.

    Maybeyou're worried about money.

    Maybeyou're worried about your future.

Maybeyou're trying to hold a family together.

Maybeyou're trying to understand why someone changed.

Maybeyou're wondering whether your efforts will ever pay off.

    Ormaybe...

    you don'teven know what's wrong.

    You justknow you're tired.

If that'syou today, I want you to hear this:

You don'thave to have everything figured out today.

    You areallowed to be uncertain.

You areallowed to have a bad day.

    You areallowed to say,

    "Idon't know what I'm doing."

    You areallowed to rest.

    You areallowed to start again.

And youare allowed to take life one day at a time.

Sometimes,we put unnecessary pressure on ourselves to solve our entire life in oneafternoon.

    We wantanswers immediately.

    We wantclarity immediately.

    We wanthealing immediately.

    But somethings cannot be rushed.

    A woundneeds time.

    A seedneeds time.

    Arelationship needs time.

    A dreamneeds time.

    Andsometimes...

    you need time.
