Chalktoberfest: Where Art, Beer & Community Meet in Marietta Georgia
    11 Sep 2026

In this episode of The Fest Chronicles, host Jeff Jones sits down with Sally Macaulay, Executive Director of the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, in Marietta Georgia, to talk about the power of art to bring people together—and one of the museum's most beloved events: Chalktoberfest.

Chalktoberfest is an exciting combination of the museum's annual Chalk Art Festival and Craft Beer Festival, held on the beautiful downtown square of Marietta. Sally shares what goes into planning this vibrant community celebration, where visitors can sample craft beers, enjoy live music from local artists, watch professional chalk artists transform the streets into stunning works of art, and savor great food—all in one unforgettable afternoon.

Best of all, the Chalk Fest is free to attend and a perfect day out for the whole family. Every sip, bite, and chalk stroke supports a great cause: all proceeds go to the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art.

Tune in to hear Sally's insights on building community through art, the story behind Chalktoberfest, and what makes Marietta's downtown square the perfect canvas for creativity.
