  • 34 - Missing Assignments, Mom Guilt & Survival Mode
    Nov 2 2026

HOLY BISCUITS. Parenting is not for the faint of heart. 😂

We had to debrief for a solid 30 minutes BEFORE we could even hit record for this one. Between missing school assignments, teenage attitudes, kids who are bored standing under a freaking waterfall, and the never-ending battle over chores and screen time... we're questioning a few things. Mainly, ARE WE SCREWING UP OUR KIDS?!

But underneath the frustration is a much bigger conversation.

We're raising kids in a world that looks absolutely nothing like the one we grew up in. We're juggling careers, bills, relationships, household responsibilities, and expectations that seem damn near impossible to meet. We're trying to give our kids opportunities we never had while simultaneously wondering whether we're giving them too much.

And somewhere in all of that, we're trying to break generational cycles without completely losing our minds.

Where did the village go? How are we supposed to be consistent when we're exhausted? And why does it feel like we're failing at something every single week?!

    This week we're talking about:

    • The joys (and absolute frustrations) of raising teenagers and strong-willed kids.
    • Technology, entitlement, accountability, and teaching our kids to appreciate what they have.
    • The mental and physical load of working motherhood.
    • Missing the village and community support that families desperately need.
    • Breaking generational cycles while still healing from our own childhoods.
    • Letting go of the expectation that we can do EVERYTHING, all the time.

There's no perfectly packaged parenting advice here. Just two moms in the thick of it, sharing the messy, funny, heartbreaking, and downright exhausting reality of raising humans.

Maybe the answer isn't to try harder, do more, or finally get everything figured out.

Maybe it's learning to accept that we're doing the best we can with what we've got, and for right now, that's enough.

So grab your coffee, fold that mountain of laundry (or don't!), and come debrief with us.

We love you guys. Be good to yourselves!

  • 33 - Let It Fall: Leaves, Expectations & the To-Do List
    Oct 26 2026

What if fall wasn't meant to be the season when we cram more onto our calendars, but the season when we finally give ourselves permission to slow down?

As the leaves begin to change and the air gets a little cooler, we're feeling the pull to cozy up, reconnect with our families, and embrace a slower, more intentional way of living. But between school schedules, sports, work, and the never-ending to-do lists, slowing down can feel easier said than done.

This week, we're talking about living with the seasons instead of constantly fighting against them. We're swapping packed schedules for family game nights, endless scrolling for playing in the leaves, and unrealistic expectations for a little more grace.

We're sharing the little things that are making our homes feel cozy this fall, from stocking the freezer with homemade soup and preparing for winter to thrifting with the kids, making old-school Halloween decorations, and finding joy in the simplest family traditions.

We also get real about motherhood, overstimulation, seasonal depression, and those moments when we realize that being present matters so much more than getting everything crossed off our lists. Because sometimes the laundry really can wait, especially when your little one just wants a hug.

In this episode, we're chatting about:

    • 🍁 Why fall might be the perfect time to slow down instead of speeding up
    • 🧡 Saying no to what drains us so we can say yes to what matters
    • 🏡 Creating cozy, intentional spaces and routines at home
    • 🍲 Preparing for winter with freezer meals, home projects, and a little nesting
    • 🍂 Bringing back simple, nostalgic childhood traditions that don't cost a fortune
    • 📵 Disconnecting from technology and reconnecting with our families
    • ❤️ Letting go of mom guilt, embracing rest, and remembering that we don't have to earn a break

Maybe this fall doesn't need to be about doing more, buying more, or keeping up with everyone else. Maybe it's about homemade soup, chilly little toes, paper chains, a good book, and being fully present for the people right in front of us.

So here's our challenge for you this week: What's one thing you can put on the back burner to make a little more room for what really matters?

Grab your favorite cozy drink, light a candle, and settle in. We're officially embracing our slow-down season.

  • 32 - We're Back, Baby! Burnout, Big Feelings & Getting Out of Our Own Way
    Oct 19 2026

Well, well, well... look who finally decided to show back up. 🙃

After a much-needed hiatus, we're BACK behind the microphones, and holy moly, do we have some catching up to do.

Between homeschooling, football, milking cows, police academy life, nonprofit adventures, career crises, and questioning every major life decision we've ever made, it's safe to say life has been LIFE-ING.

In this comeback episode of The Debrief, we're getting real about burnout in healthcare and emergency services, the terrifying possibility of walking away from what you've always known, and what happens when God keeps nudging you toward something bigger while your nervous system is screaming, "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE PAYCHECK?!"

Staci shares her emotional roller coaster of nearly returning to the ER, only to realize that being capable of doing something doesn't mean it's where she's meant to be. Meanwhile, we dive into the exciting growth of Beyond the Sirens, critical incident stress management training, and the challenge of pouring into others when your own cup is running dangerously low.

Of course, we also manage to squeeze in an excessive amount of cow talk, questionable thrifting opinions, family chaos, and the usual shenanigans.

Because here's the thing: sometimes taking a break isn't quitting. Sometimes it's exactly what you need to remember who the heck you are.

We're talking faith over fear, protecting our peace, finding purpose beyond our professions, and learning that getting out of our own way might be the hardest work of all.

Thanks for sticking around while we figured some things out. We're grateful you're here.

We're back, baby. Full throttle. ❤️

    In this episode:
    • Why we disappeared for six weeks (and why we're not apologizing for needing a minute)
    • The reality of burnout in nursing and EMS
    • Staci's almost-return to the emergency room and choosing holistic nurse coaching instead
    • Beyond the Sirens, supporting first responders, and finding renewed purpose
    • Motherhood, marriage, homeschooling, and navigating demanding schedules
    • Listening to your gut, trusting God, and releasing the need for a backup plan
    • Rediscovering creativity, enjoying the little things, and making room for joy

A little reminder from us: You are allowed to outgrow a career, a season, or a version of yourself that no longer fits. Your purpose doesn't expire just because your plans change.

Thanks for hanging out with us. We love you guys!
