Kimberly Wright Ragins preaches from Romans 1:16 an exhortation for our church body in her sermon. This message is the third in our four-part series of guest preachers, encouraging our church family as we celebrate our 10-year anniversary.

Kimberly Wright Ragins' Bio: Rev. Kimberly Wright is the Senior Pastor of The Church of the Resurrection, a mission-driven congregation committed to the transforming power of God to reach, save, and change people, families, and communities. She is a gifted preacher and teacher whose ministry is marked by sound biblical instruction, prophetic insight, and a compassionate heart for God’s people. Rev. Wright counsels with a Godly standard and leads with integrity, excellence, and unwavering faith.

Rev. Wright joined Resurrection in 1991, serving faithfully as Youth Pastor and Assistant Pastor before being called to senior leadership. Under her guidance, the church has grown spiritually and physically. In January 2009, she led the congregation into a newly constructed church and community facility that now serves hundreds of individuals each week. This real estate effort was historical as it set a standard for protecting church properties across the country. Her vision is bold: a church open twenty-four hours a day, meeting the needs of God’s people with love and purpose.

In addition to her traditional pastoral work, Rev. Wright is the Executive Director of The Center for Life and Faith, where she has developed transformative programs that support children, youth, and adults throughout the community. These include preschool, afterschool and youth development initiatives, college preparation and retention programs, a summer camp, and Saturday reading enrichment. Beginning as a volunteer in 1990, she has expanded the agency year after year, increasing its reach and impact.

Rev. Wright has counseled diverse populations, including individuals overcoming substance abuse, troubled youth, single mothers, incarcerated men and women, and persons living with HIV. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sociology and Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, and is pursuing her Master of Divinity at New York Theological Seminary. She serves on several boards, mentors women in ministry, and remains active in grassroots community efforts.

Rev. Wright is the cornerstone of her family. Her husband, Jeffrey, and her four children are her foundation, her motivation, and her greatest inspiration.
