This week I decided to start a new segment that is pretty self explanatory - providing DM advice! Now this isn't just random tidbits of advice, instead I have searched out DMs who are actively searching for advice for specific questions. This was inspired by a recent rash of D&D content creators reacting to a DM's Reddit question about a player asking to have a character immune to death. I wanted to weigh in on this too, but opted to add a few different questions to address as well. The questions are all themed around the subject of death, in one way or another. Tune in to see if you get anything from my advice, or if you agree with it at all.

Welcome to the Pining For Pixels podcast! This is my video game variety show podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a subject or theme that interests me, and I will speak about what is on my mind in the world of video games!

I want to look back at all the games I played as part of my video game book club series during 2025. I played a total of 5 games to completion, and as is becoming a tradition for this show, I have arranged them from my least favourite to my most favourite now that the year is done. Although I enjoyed every one of them, there certainly was an order to my enjoyment. I was honestly quite surprised overall with the order, but in my heart I kind of knew where some of them would fall in this list eventually. There was a mix of genuine unexpected delight and an unfortunate feeling of overhype that impacted the order for this list, but in all cases, a good amount of fun was to be found. This week I wanted to find everyone's list of TTRPGs that are highly anticipated for release this year, but most online publications have yet to release such a list. However, I noticed a lot of people talking about the EN World list, which I have also reviewed, and to be honest, it surprised me! In past years their list didn't always resonate with me, but this year, there were some surprising similarities between their list and my own. So I decided to focus on them and review their list in its entirety this week, as it is generated by user votes after all. While not fully aligned, the list was certainly a surprise to me.
