Episode 9: A Late Night Phone Call ☎️🌙

For episode 9, we’re doing things a little differently with our first-ever phone call episode!

This time, we’re chatting about the realities of raising children, the challenges of raising a little boy, and just how important positive male role models can be. We look back at the men Dad looked up to growing up, and ask whether he sees himself as a role model to anyone today.

Then, as always, the conversation takes a turn into everyday family life — from wondering whether it’s finally time to dust off the slow cooker to the absolute battle of getting children dressed when they decide there’s only ONE outfit they’ll ever wear again! 😂

A little bit of parenting, a little bit of nostalgia, a few everyday struggles, and one late-night conversation between two generations.

  • Episode Eight: Ouija Boards & Other Uncomfortable Conversations
    11 Oct 2026

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

In this episode of Monkey & Me, we go from childhood fears and unexplained experiences to anxiety, health, and the many versions of ourselves we become throughout life.

We revisit my childhood night terrors, although I’m still not entirely convinced they were just night terrors, including some very real feeling memories of clothes filling out and chasing me into my parents’ bedroom. Naturally, we end up talking about Ouija boards and the things we can’t explain.

We also explore how anxiety and our health can hold us back from pursuing our dreams, share some deeply traumatic for everyone except Dad childhood memories involving an impressive amount of sick, and ask a bigger question: Do we lose parts of ourselves as we grow, or do all our experiences merge together to create a new version of who we are?

As always, no scripts, no filters, just honest conversations, questionable memories, a little bit of the unexplained, and plenty of laughs along the way.

☕ Put the kettle on and join us.

  • Episode Seven: From Pencil to Land rovers
    30 Sep 2026

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

    Episode 7

This week on Monkey & Me, there’s no particular topic… just a good old fashioned chat that somehow takes us everywhere.

Dad shares a strange little encounter with a stranger, we get deep into his love and knowledge of Land Rovers, and we chat about different types of people and why we should be able to accept that not everyone is the same as us. There’s also a little language lesson, including Sophie being called out for her pronunciation!

Dad then has a rant about the unnecessary anger that can come after car accidents, before taking us back to his days working as a gravedigger and sharing a few stories from the job. He also has his rant of the week about how Club biscuits seem to have shrunk... outrageous!

And finally, we get onto small talk…something Dad really isn’t a fan of. When people ask what he does for a living and he doesn’t think they genuinely need to know, he’ll sometimes make up the most bizarre jobs just for his own amusement.

No script, no particular plan… just Dad and daughter talking about absolutely everything and a bit of nothing.
