Über diesen Titel

Join hosts Rondah Worrell-Maik and Erik Williams as we deconstruct and decolonize our faith lives, one conversation at a time.

Unlike many other such podcasts, we are not biblical scholars, PhD’s or former pastors; we’re a pair of normal Canadian humans discussing things we’re hearing in church, learning in books, podcasts, and social media; digesting and synthesizing data to find ways to live out our faith lives in more inclusive and less harmful ways.

  • What If…?
    Jan 25 2026

Wherein we chat about the “accident of the Bible.” The fact that any of the 66 currently canonized books survived the last 2000+ years of history is an actual miracle; let alone the somewhat arbitrary updates and edits that have occurred along the way, making their way into the current translations. We talk about the order of the books, the paucity of Pauline Epistles and much in between! What if, in the post-exilic redaction of the Hebrew Bible, only one creation account had been kept and not both? What only one of the four Gospels had survived the test of time? What would that mean for the religion we have today?

Words!! We talk about the game of telephone that is the multitudinous myriad of translations of the Bible that we English speakers have inherited. From biblical puns to wordly whoopsies, we finally learn how it is that a camel came to be positioned to pass through the eye of a needle.

  • White Jesus
    Dec 28 2025

Wherein we talk about the evolution of Jesus from a brown-skinned, West Asian member of a colonized people to a lily-white saviour of a “persecuted” middle and upper class of Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich and (for the moment) Democratic North America (weird, right?!). We discuss the origins of “White People” as a racial concept and how whiteness has co-opted what was meant to be universal salvation.
