Join me for a truly inspiring episode of the Mazel Pups Podcast featuring Lisa Schechter and her delightful Goldendoodle, Dunkin. Lisa talks about the strong connection to Judaism and the Jewish community she developed while growing up, and her love for Shabbat and the mitzvah of welcoming guests. She also shares her unique journey of becoming an influencer and advocate for Israel. And she lets us in on how her family's deep ties to Israel and her Zionist values were shaped. Through Lisa’s stories, we get to know Dunkin, whose charming presence brings joy and comfort to many, and who has become a partner in Lisa’s helping others as well as her advocacy for Israel.

Listen in as Lisa recounts Dunkin's journey from family pet to certified therapy dog. You’ll hear about the profound impact Dunkin has had on the community, from bringing smiles during Purim celebrations to providing comfort for people with illnesses. You’ll also learn how Dunkin has joined Lisa in supporting lone soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces heading to and from Israel to protect the people who live there. Through Lisa and Dunkin's story, we celebrate the power of community and of supporting others and the incredible ways a dog's presence can foster healing and connection.

Join me in celebrating love, tradition, and the joy of furry companions as I welcome Suzy and Arlene, accompanied by their adorable Maltese pups, Vorno and Levi. In this touching episode of the Mazel Pops podcast, where Suzy and Arlene tell the fun story of how they met and how their love for each other grew, they also speak of their love for their dogs, Vorno and Levi. And they share poignant memories of their beloved dog Lucca, who has passed over the rainbow bridge.

The episode was filmed on Suzy and Arlene’s ninth wedding anniversary, which also marked the day on which they’d been together for 22 years. They fondly remember their special wedding day, when their Jewish wedding was enriched by the unforgettable roles their dogs played.

This episode honors the unconditional love and companionship that dogs bring into our lives. Whether you're a dog lover, a fan of romantic stories, or interested in incorporating furry friends into your life’s milestone moments, this episode offers a joyous exploration of all that and more.

Join me on the Mazel Pups podcast as I welcome the incredibly talented Ellis Weiner, known for his humorous books like Yiddish with Dick and Jane and How to Raise a Jewish Dog. Ellis takes us through his creative process and shares how his collaboration with his late wife, Barbara Davilman, brought out the best in his writing.

Our conversation also explores the profound connection between storytelling and personal growth. Ellis candidly reflects on how his Jewish upbringing – and his Jewish mother in particular – influenced his humor, while acknowledging the challenges of stereotypes and evolving societal norms.

Ellis reveals the art of adopting different voices while working as a ghostwriter and the satisfaction of helping others share their stories, including intriguing projects with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Finally, Eliis explains how stepping away from his computer and walking with Jeff results in bursts of creativity.

This episode promises a perfect blend of laughs, insights, and inspiration. You're sure to be entertained and enlightened.
