  • When Your Child Is Struggling: Finding Strength in Asking for Help
    Oct 10 2026

In this episode of Breaking the Stigma with Dr. Lisa, Aurora, a Latina mother of two school age children and Parents Anonymous® Parent Leader, shares her family’s experience navigating her daughter’s anxiety and panic attacks. She talks about supporting a child who is struggling, the impact of social media, and the importance of creating space for children to express their feelings.

Aurora shares how Parents Anonymous® Group helped her feel less alone, build confidence as a parent, and find support for her daughter. When her daughter experienced a particularly difficult moment, she reached out to the Parent & Youth Helpline for support.

The conversation also explores breaking generational patterns around emotions, partnering with schools, the positive impact of sports and music, and helping children build confidence and resilience. Above all, Aurora reminds parents that they don’t have to navigate difficult moments alone—and that Asking for Help is a Sign of Strength®.
