How does a woman get the things many of us take for granted, like a bra that fits or period products when she has no access to them at all?

Dana Marlowe’s story starts in a lingerie store dressing room in 2015. She asked what to do with her old bras, and a sales associate told her, “Homeless women need bras.” Dana had no nonprofit background. Her first donation was 16 bras and some menstrual hygiene products. Today, her organization, I Support the Girls, has donated nearly 58 million bras and menstrual hygiene products to more than 5,600 shelters and social service agencies who serve women experiencing homelessness, poverty, and crisis.

In this episode of Humankindness at Work, Dana shares:

• How an “accidental activist” built a global movement without extra time, money, or expertise
• Why some needs, like menstrual products and bras, stay invisible, and how we change the conversation
• What happens when we give people a platform to do good
• Crystal’s story, and why a red lacy bra meant so much to her

Dignity shouldn’t be a luxury. If you’ve ever wondered how to make a difference when you don’t feel like an expert, this conversation is for you.

How does the gift of opportunity make a difference in the world?

In this episode of Humankindness at Work, you'll meet Bulleh “Boo” Bablitch-Norkeh, founder of Girl Power Africa, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and children in Liberia, West Africa through education and entrepreneurship.

Bulleh was born in Liberia to a Liberian mother and an American Peace Corps father, who brought her to the United States as a child — giving her, in her words, "the opportunity of a lifetime." She grew up, went to school, married, and built a comfortable life in Wisconsin. But when Liberia's newly elected first female president invited her husband to help rebuild the country after a 14-year civil war, Bulleh found herself making the opposite journey: uprooting her own family and moving back to the country of her birth.

What she found there — women walking miles each day to sell goods worth less than a dollar, children unable to attend school because their families couldn't afford a single cup of rice — changed the course of her life. She began helping women one at a time, giving them bags of charcoal to sell, then covering school fees for their children. That quiet, personal generosity has since grown into Girl Power Africa, which today supports more than 585 children's education and dozens of women-led small businesses across Liberia.

In this conversation, Bulleh shares:

• Her personal story and what it was like to return to Liberia after its civil war
• The founding philosophy behind Girl Power Africa: give a hand up, not a handout
• Why self-sufficiency restores dignity and voice to women in her community
• Real stories of transformation, including women who've gone from street vendors to homeowners and business owners
• How listeners can sponsor a child's education for $110 a year or a woman's small business for a one-time $100 donation

This episode is a reminder that meaningful change doesn't require wealth, influence, or a grand plan — just the willingness to keep passing on the gift of opportunity to others.

What happens when the scariest thing you can do also turns out to be the most important? In this episode of Humankindness at Work, Jennifer Clark talks with Jessica Honegger — founder of Noonday Collection and author of the best-selling book Imperfect Courage — for an honest, unfiltered conversation about courage, creativity, and building a business that changes lives on both sides of the transaction.

Jessica's story doesn't start with a business plan. It starts with an adoption in progress, a financial crisis, and a friend's offhand suggestion: sell handmade goods from artisans in Uganda to help cover the costs. Terrified of what people might think, Jessica almost canceled the very first trunk show, hosted in her own living room. But she didn't. That one courageous, imperfect yes became the foundation of Noonday Collection, a people-first lifestyle brand with over $155 million in lifetime revenue and a mission to create dignified work for thousands of artisans in vulnerable communities around the world.

In this conversation, you'll hear:

• How redefining courage changes what's possible
• The critical difference between charity and dignified economic opportunity
• The "sisterhood effect" vs. the “bystander effect” - and what it means to stop waiting for someone else to step up
• The honest reality of being a mother building a global company
• What's next for Noonday, including new travel experiences launching this fall!

About the Guest: Jessica Honegger is the founder of Noonday Collection, an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and the author of Imperfect Courage. Her work has been featured in Inc. Magazine, InStyle, the Today Show, Vogue, Magnolia Journal, and Thrive Global. She lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and three teenagers.
