With the world in lockdown due to the Covid-19 epidemic, musician Steve Pretty takes you on a regular musical tour of your house and your own innately musical brain. In each short episode you’ll hear fascinating insights into how music works, and learn how to turn the everyday objects you have lying around the house into musical tools. Perfect for families looking for fun activities to explore together, or anyone curious to learn more about music. In just a few minutes, each episode will transform the way that you hear and appreciate the music you love.

Popping into this feed for another shout to my new podcast, very much in the same vein as House Music, Steve Pretty On The Origin of the Pieces.

Head over there, and please do subscribe, share and review if you enjoy it. It's an enormous help for a new independent podcast!

Steve Pretty On The Origin of the Pieces Episode 1
    Oct 9 2023

Now that the height of the pandemic, when House Music started, seems a distant and distinctly weird memory, House Music is retired.

BUT Steve is back with a BRAND NEW podcast. Covering similar ground as House Music, and much, much more, this is a show that will help you to hear music differently, whether you are a listener, player, composer or music maker of any sort.

In this first episode, Steve lays out the format of the show, has fun showing his partner his frankly ludicrous studio, and writes a heavy metal tune about a primary school teacher.

So put 'Steve Pretty On The Origin of the Pieces' into your podcast app of choice, and get listening, reviewing, subscribing and all that stuff.

    Thanks, Quaranteam!

Steve chats with astronaut and musician Commander Chris Hadfield about making music in space, what to do if you break a guitar string whilst in orbit and how Chris' extraordinary career has always involved music. Chris ends the episode by playing his beautiful 'space carol' "Jewel in the Night".

Stay safe and have fun, quaranteam.
