"..People say, 'This is the most important election of our lifetime'. And for many people, I don't know that that's true, and I think for some it is. And I think accounting for that is really important, that just because what's on the ballot doesn't necessarily impact you, it's worth noting that it very well and deeply impacts others."

In our final episode of the election season, our podcast host Mary Woodard meets with Josiah Johnson from Tacoma Safe Homes 4 All to talk about tenants rights, funding social initiatives during times of financial crisis, and why Tacoma brings him hope. Presented in support of the Tacoma Safe Homes 4 All campaign.

"[Coming out at school first] doesn’t mean the parents aren’t good parents. It means the child is kind of testing and wants to find the way they can best express this so they don’t upset their parents. ...They’re choosing first to try this out and find their voice with people with other people they consider to be supportive to them. And that’s beautiful, it’s just sad that they have to feel they have to do it that way. "

In this episode, Rainbow Center's Education Manager Mary Woodard is joined by Lynn Goralski, an educator of nine years, to get an in-depth look at Initiative 001 and its impact on our schools and students. Presented in support of the No Hate in WA State Campaign.

"School was a big safe haven for me, in my life. I talked to my favorite friends, my favorite teachers.... It's just different ways of interacting with people that I think it is really good for kids to be and have, and having that trust with other adults just makes your expansive support bigger. And the more support you have, I believe, the way easier life is."

In this episode, Rainbow Center's Education Manager Mary Woodard and RC Board Member Chris Davis chat about the stigma around mental health, double standards in sports, and how IL26-001and IL26-638 create unfair and inequitable conditions for our students. Presented in support of the No Hate in WA State Campaign.
