We're talkin' 'bout somethin' that dropped back in '80, a number that ain't just gonna get your feet tappin', it's gonna *move* ya!

Yeah, that's right, I'm layin' down the lowdown on a track called "Behind the Groove"! This one is a scorcher! Didn't quite hit number one here in the states, but climbed all the way up to number 21 on the R&B charts! That's some serious soul power! And overseas? In the U.K., they were goin' bananas for it! It hit number 6 on their singles chart! Number 6! That's rockin'!

And what's this tune all about, you ask? Well, it's all about findin' that *thing* inside you! That spark! That hidden talent! It's about realizin' that you got it in you to make things happen!

The lyrics are screamin' it at ya! "{Behind the groove} There's another side inside of you! {Behind the groove} You can make your wildest dreams come true!" Man, that's some heavy stuff right there! It's tellin' you to ditch the squares, embrace the vibe, and let your inner light shine!

And the beat? Oh, the beat is pure dynamite! It's shoutin' out! "{Behind the groove} Get on up and shake your body! {Get behind the groove} Open up and take the music in! {Get behind the groove} You better get on up! {Behind the groove} Come to the party! {Get behind the groove} Life is waitin' for you to begin!"

Yeah, Life IS waitin'! Tell your folks you're steppin' out, and find that groove inside ya! This song's a reminder that you gotta grab life by the horns and dance your way to the top! It’s gettin' behind that groove, man! Behind that rhythm! Behind that… well, you dig what I'm sayin'!

So let's get this party started! "Behind the Groove" is a stone groove, and that’s the truth! Now go out there and be groovy!

I'm Gail Nobles! Thank you for listening to Hitmakers Music!

Whenever I'm craving a good vibe on those weeknights, I can't help but think of the legendary band Chic. Their sound doesn't just get you dancing. It fills your heart with joy as you get into those groovy 1970s rhythms. It’s the kind of music that makes you feel alive and ready to enjoy life. Honestly today's tunes just don't have that same magic for me. So I keep listening to Chic’s tracks and reliving that feel good energy.

One of those tracks that I listen to is the track I Want Your Love from Chic’s
second studio album C’est Chic 1978.

In the United States, "I Want Your Love" reached number one on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in November 1978[2] and number five on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in April 1979. It also peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 in May 1979 and remained on the chart for 19 weeks. In the United Kingdom, it reached number four on the UK Singles chart (the highest position of any Chic singles) and spent 11 weeks on the chart.
I'm Gail Nobles, and you're listening to the Hitmakers Music Podcast. Keep reliving the tunes.
