As Oscar season is dwindling to a close, Pete and Trevor narrow their focus on three Best Picture nominees: Train Dreams (directed by Clint Bentley, starring Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones), The Secret Agent (directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, starring Wagner Moura), and Hamnet (directed by Chloé Zhao, starring Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal).
For our feature Hamnet, we provide our immediate reactions after watching the film. Spoiler alert: this movie is a powerhouse of sadness.
Next week we cover The Bride and finish our Oscar project with recaps of Frankenstein and Marty Supreme.
If you would like to share your favourite film of the year with us, leave us a voicemail (via audio clip) at firstlookfinalwordpod@gmail.com
