TWO FLORIDA MOTHERS. EIGHT CHILDREN. TWO TRIPS. WHEN DOES LEAVING CHILDREN ALONE BECOME CRIMINAL NEGLECT?"
In North Miami Beach, police allege that a mother left four children, including a two-month-old infant, while taking a weekend cruise.
Now, in Osceola County, another mother, 50-year-old Irene Miller, has been arrested after allegedly leaving her four children, ages nine through fourteen, without overnight adult supervision while she traveled to Las Vegas for work.
And in this latest case, something happened that every parent should think about.
A nine-year-old boy suffered a head injury when a dumbbell reportedly fell on his head. One of his siblings called 911 for help. Fortunately, the child received medical treatment and was released from the hospital.
