Fade2Blaq is where culture speaks, truth lives, and uncomfortable conversations aren't avoided—they're confronted.

Hosted by Notorious Blaq straight out of the Bronx, Fade2Blaq takes an unapologetic look at Black culture, history, media, family, personal accountability, social issues, and the challenges facing today's generation. From questioning the narratives we're given to examining the choices we make ourselves, nothing is off the table.

This isn't about telling you what to think. It's about starting conversations, challenging perspectives, learning from the past, and making sure the next generation understands the power of its history, its choices, and its voice.

Some topics will make you think. Some might make you uncomfortable. And some might have you talking long after the episode ends.

Because we don't fade away.

We Fade2Blaq.

What happens to a child before they become another statistic in the criminal justice system?

In this powerful and deeply personal episode of Fade 2 Blaq, host Notorious Blaq confronts the troubling reality of Black youth incarceration in America—and asks a question that too often goes unanswered: Where were we before the handcuffs?

Drawing from his own childhood experiences with grief, anger, and encounters with law enforcement, Notorious Blaq explores the circumstances that can push young people toward destructive choices. From poverty, trauma, bullying, and absent parental guidance to peer pressure, systemic disparities, and the influence of social media, this conversation challenges listeners to look beyond the crime and examine the circumstances that preceded it.

But this isn't a conversation about excusing criminal behavior. It's about accountability—of young people, parents, communities, institutions, and the justice system itself.

Why do we invest so heavily in incarceration while failing to invest in prevention? Why are Black youth disproportionately represented in juvenile detention? And what would happen if we gave struggling children mentorship, opportunity, and support before their lives reached a breaking point?

This episode is a call to action. Because protecting our communities and holding people accountable shouldn't mean giving up on the next generation.

Our children deserve more than outrage after something goes wrong. They deserve our investment before it does.

  • Who Controls the Narrative?
    Aug 23 2026

Who tells your story—and what happens when someone else gets to decide which parts of that story the world sees?

In the debut episode of Fade2Blaq, host Notorious Blaq explores the power of narrative and how Black Americans have been portrayed through news media, politics, entertainment, and social media.

From the tendency to highlight negative stories while overlooking accomplishments and context to the continuing struggle for Black Americans to define and preserve their own history, Blaq asks a fundamental question: Who controls the narrative?

But the conversation doesn't stop with outside forces. Blaq turns the mirror inward, challenging the Black community to consider personal accountability, the examples adults set for younger generations, the influence of social media, and the importance of education, mentorship, family, and knowing our history.

He also examines the complicated relationship between progress and perception. Black Americans have achieved extraordinary success across business, government, medicine, education, science, entrepreneurship, and countless other fields—yet questions surrounding equality, opportunity, representation, and access remain.

    In this episode:

    • Media representation and public perception
    • Progress versus perception in Black America
    • Social media's influence on the next generation
    • Personal and community accountability
    • Parents leading by example
    • Education and understanding Black history
    • Preserving our stories for future generations
    • Taking control of our own narrative

Notorious Blaq closes with a challenge: support a Black-owned business, mentor a young person, read a Black author, learn a piece of history you didn't know, and tell your family's story.

If we don't preserve our history, someone else will write it for us.

We never fade away. We Fade2Blaq.
