Autor:
Imamura chats with Matthew Chase-Daniel about her artwork, which draws upon techniques and ideas learned at the Institute of American Indian Arts where she was a student, studying bead work with Terri Greeves over 20 years ago. Raised in Japan, Imamura was drawn to the land and culture of New Mexico from a young age and worked to make the journey here. Now back in Japan, her artwork is rich with tradition and stories from her Japanese culture, along with histories of nuclear contamination, the bomb, manga, and popular world cultural references.
