Released in 1982 and directed by Amy Heckerling, Fast Times at Ridgemont High follows a group of Southern California high school students as they find friendships, first loves, jobs, and the awkward realities of growing up. The film centers on Stacy Hamilton, Mark “Rat” Ratner, Brad Hamilton, and the unforgettable and amazing surfer Jeff Spicoli as they experience the highs and lows of teenage life. BThis is a comedy but does a great job portraying adolescence. This movie became a defining teen film of the 1980s and launched the careers of several future stars.
