Roberta and Glenn sit down with Luke Toller of IMARK Architectural Metals to talk cladding. The conversation starts and ends at the stunningly innovative and dramatic River Cree Medical Centre on the Enoch Cree Nation in west Edmonton. The building is cladded in a panelled representation of a historic photo from the area. Where the idea came from, where the panels came from, the painstaking work to mount them, the machines used in the process — all of this and more is revealed in the conversation. The River Cree Medical Centre will be an outpatient health campus, including, among other medical and wellness services, an orthopedic surgery centre and medical specialist clinics. Listen to Luke explain IMARK's contributions to the exterior of the building and you'll make out a connection between the health care work inside and the cladding work outside. Both are concerned with creating and maintaining a stable and balanced temperature and equilibrium, whether for patients or the building itself. Luke also gives the viewer a visual tour of some of the IMARK landmarks in the city. 🎧 Infrasound uncovers the human side of infrastructure — the decisions, experiences, and people shaping the built world around us.🎵 Music: “Step Forward” by Mike Kirin — featured with permission.🌐 Find reVerb online: reverbcomms.ca
