On Episode 284 of the Raised Rowdy Podcast, hosts Nick Tressler and Kurt Ozan welcome Zane Williams and Sean Rodriguez of The Wilder Blue back to the show to celebrate the release of the band’s fifth album, Cinco. The guys discuss returning to Sonic Ranch, self-producing the record and expanding their sound with outside songwriters, fiddle, steel guitar and keys. Zane and Sean break down how songs written nearly a decade apart came together, the intensive process behind the band’s five-part harmonies and why they refuse to force every song into one cohesive sound. They also dive into using cowboy imagery without pretending to be something they’re not, building a sustainable career through sold-out club shows and the realities of keeping an independent touring band on the road. From late-night harmonica sessions to two-hour headline sets, this conversation offers a look at the friendship, creativity and persistence behind The Wilder Blue.
