Earth Tones is a return to what is real- a rhythm, a remembering, a quiet rebellion against a world that tells you to stay surface- level. Here, we go deeper.

  • Episode 29: Flooding the Darkness with Light: A Spiritual Toolkit for Heavy Times
    Feb 17 2026

This devotional is offered as many process difficult revelations and conversations circulating in the news, including discussions around the Epstein files…

As difficult information circulates and conversations grow louder, many of us are carrying questions, grief, and even fear. This episode is an invitation to respond differently, not by turning away, but by turning toward the light that anchors us.

Together, we reflect on what Scripture reminds us so clearly: the spirit of fear is not from God. When darkness is revealed, we are not called to shrink or spiral, but to stand rooted in truth, prayer, and love.

Inside this spiritual toolkit, I share gentle reminders for protecting your heart and mind, including the importance of stepping away from the noise to refill your spiritual cup, being mindful of where you place your attention, and remembering that peace is something we actively cultivate.

We talk about the commandment against idolatry and how easily fear can become something we unknowingly give power to. I also share encouragement to spend as much time nourishing your spirit as you do staying informed, and how taking breaks from social media can help quiet the internal storm.

You’ll hear a prayer for protection and peace over your home, calling on God’s presence to cover your mind, your family, and your space. And we spend time in Psalm 37, a beautiful reminder that goodness, justice, and faithfulness endure even when the world feels unsettled.

At the beginning of the episode, I share an important update about the direction of the podcast. In this season, I feel called to lean more deeply into devotional reflections rooted in Scripture and spiritual wisdom, creating a space centered on hope, unity, and spiritual grounding. While guest conversations have been meaningful, this moment is inviting a return to stillness and listening for what God is doing in quieter ways.

My prayer is that this episode feels like a deep breath… a reminder that light is never overcome by darkness, and that we are invited to be carriers of peace wherever we go.

If you’re feeling weary, you are not alone. Let this be a moment to pause, reconnect, and remember that love remains stronger than fear.

  • Episode 28: The Space Between Pickups and Goodbyes, A Stepmom’s Pursuit to Love - with Tiffanie Jensen
    Feb 10 2026

This conversation with Tiffanie Jensen is an honest, expansive look at love as an intelligence—one that is guided by God and practiced daily inside real family life.

Together, we explore blended families through three equally important lenses: the parent, the marriage, and the child. Tiffanie shares how holding all three perspectives at once has been essential to creating safety, trust, and connection in a household with six children and complex transitions shaped by custody schedules and court documents.

One of the central metaphors in this episode is a globe. Tiffanie explains how one person’s perspective can feel absolute—until the globe is turned and an entirely different landscape appears. In blended families, every child and adult is standing on a different side of that globe, each holding a valid story. Her non-dualistic approach—where more than one truth can exist at the same time—has become a bridge between her, her stepchildren, and her partner.

We talk about the emotional rhythm of transition days, the overwhelm of after-school “rush hour,” and the importance of allowing space for children to acclimate back into one another’s world. Tiffanie also shares how she protects her marriage by picking battles wisely, staying flexible, and fitting in connection wherever life allows—even when nothing feels predictable.

She opens up about the quieter moments too: using transition days as intentional self-care when the children return to their other parent’s home, and how her years as a river rafting guide shaped her understanding of leadership, trust, and the often unseen strength of motherhood—especially single motherhood.

Woven throughout is a love story rooted in faith, teamwork, and deep trust: two people who knew early on that love was present, who committed quickly, and who continue choosing each other inside a beautifully complex family system.

This episode is for anyone navigating blended families, step-parenthood, marriage under pressure, or the invitation to love with more curiosity, humility, and grace.
