Season 2 begins!
In this opening episode, we introduce the life and ministry of Dr. Reuben Burrow (1798–1868), one of the most influential early leaders of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Written shortly before his death, Burrow's autobiographical sketch tells the remarkable story of frontier ministry, circuit riding through Missouri and Arkansas, enduring illness, poverty, lost horses, long journeys on foot, camp meetings, revivals, and the planting of churches across the expanding American frontier.
This episode isn't simply history. It's a firsthand account of what it meant to preach Christ when the American frontier was still being settled.
Join us as we begin exploring the life and legacy of one of the great forgotten voices of Cumberland Presbyterian history.
