In Episode 36 I catch up with the Queen of Seaweed, Dr Pia Winberg.
Originally from Sweden but now living in Australia, Pia is a marine ecologist, entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of Phyco Health. She’s spent much of her life exploring the relationship between the ocean, science and human health. From her work as a marine ecologist and researcher to developing products using seaweed and marine plants, her career has taken her well beyond the traditional path of a scientist. We chat about her fascination with the ocean, the science behind seaweed and its potential applications, the products she’s created from it, what it takes to turn scientific ideas into real businesses, and the story behind Phyco Health.
