We had the joy of sitting down with writer, director, and producer Vicky Jewson who directed and executive produced PRETTY LETHAL, a female-driven action film starring Uma Thurman, Lana Condor, and Maddie Ziegler after seeing the world premiere at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival. In 2006, Jewson launched her production company Jewson Film alongside her longtime producing partner, writing partner, and creative collaborator Rupert Whitaker. Jewson Film creates female driven action narratives that are character-specific, emotionally grounded, and driven by authentic, complex protagonists, where every moment of action earns its place and carries real stakes and consequences. As an extension of the company, Jewson and Whitaker are working to launch a cooperative movement and talent incubator to ensure more films are made in the action space written, directed by and starring women.
