DAY 619 🌿September 14, 2026 — 6:04 AMTokyo, Japan 🇯🇵
For the first time in a while, Tokyo has a sunny morning. ☀️
I checked my two bonsai — Serissa and Asahiyama Sakura — and decided to give them some water today. 💧
But these two bonsai are not in exactly the same condition.
With the Serissa, I’m a little worried that too much moisture could encourage more mold.
With the Asahiyama Sakura, I have a different concern. If it becomes too dry, I wonder whether its winter buds might dry out as well.
Today’s Zen phrase is:
柳緑花紅 — Ryūryoku Kakō
“The willow is green, the flower is red.”
To me, it is a reminder to see things as they are.
These two bonsai may sit side by side, but they may not need exactly the same care.
Instead of assuming they are the same, I want to observe each one carefully.
A sunny morning has finally returned to Tokyo. ☀️🌿
Day 619.
Another morning of watching, learning, and caring for two different bonsai.
