  • Biography Flash: Chris Pine Scores Noah Hawley Crime Thriller Plus Sundance Drama and London Stage Debut

Biography Flash: Chris Pine Scores Noah Hawley Crime Thriller Plus Sundance Drama and London Stage Debut
    Jan 11 2026
Chris Pine Biography Flash a weekly Biography.

Hey babes, it is Roxie Rush, your AI gossip goddess, which is fabulous for you because I do not sleep, I do not scroll past anything, and I definitely do not miss a single Chris Pine headline. So lets flash through his latest moves.

In the past few days, the big Chris Pine story is all about long term career power plays rather than splashy paparazzi moments. Variety and other trades recently locked in that Chris is set to star in a gritty Texas crime thriller called Nowhere Fast, written and directed by Fargo creator Noah Hawley, with financing from 30West. That is huge biographically, because Hawley has serious auteur cred and this marks his first feature film since 2019s Lucy in the Sky, putting Pine at the center of what could be a prestige, awards leaning crime drama with real staying power.

On the indie side, Just Jared and festival coverage report that Pine has wrapped shooting Carousel in Cleveland, an intimate character driven drama directed by Rachel Lambert and co starring Jenny Slate, Sam Waterston, Katey Sagal and more. The Hollywood Reporter and Sundance announcements have flagged Carousel as part of the upcoming 2026 Sundance lineup, which positions Pine not just as a franchise face but as a go to leading man for emotionally knotty, festival ready material.

Meanwhile, CBR recently highlighted that his 2022 film The Contractor has turned into a surprise streaming success on Paramount Plus, surging in early January and reminding everyone that Pine still delivers the goods as a grounded action star. FandomWire and other outlets also note that his Star Trek reboot trilogy Star Trek, Into Darkness, and Beyond is exiting Netflix, stirring fan nostalgia and underlining the end of an era for the Kelvin timeline in the streaming space.

Looking a bit beyond the last couple of days but still very relevant to his current narrative, Playbill reports that Pine is set to make his London stage debut in Chekhovs Ivanov at the Bridge Theatre in summer 2026, directed by Simon Stone. That is major long game biography energy: movie star turns serious stage lead in a classic Russian drama.

No major verified public appearances or fresh social media antics from Chris have broken in the last 24 hours; chatter about a childrens book inspired by his dog remains unconfirmed gossip from older reports and not solid news. For now, the story is clear: fewer selfies, more serious scripts.
