O tym tytule

Welcome to Booked Out with Bre: the podcast for virtual assistants ready to level up and founders building with team who refuse to choose between audacious ambition and a life they actually love.

I'm your host, Bre Cain, mama of three, unapologetic entrepreneur, and founder of a business built from my kitchen table and 4-year-old's bedroom with big energy and zero apologies.

I'm the founder of ICON & Lightning, a remote team agency that hand matches elite virtual assistants to founder-led businesses ... because the right team isn't an operational decision, it's a leadership identity. I'm also the founder of the VA Leadership Academy, where I've trained nearly 500 virtual assistants in the technical skills, emotional intelligence, and leadership identity it takes to become a truly strategic partner; not just a task doer.

Six years ago, I thought I had to choose. Mom or career. Present or ambitious. I went back to my 9-to-5 after my first baby and lasted three months before I realized my entire definition of success had shifted. So I bet on myself and built a business that now approaches $2M in just three years, scaled in part-time hours, alongside my kids, from home.

Here's what I know for sure: you don't have to choose.

You can have the booming business. The clients you're obsessed with. The school pickups, the slow mornings, the spontaneous yes moments. You can build a team that amplifies your vision instead of adding to your mental load. You can scale without sacrificing the life you built the business to protect.

This podcast is for the virtual assistant who's ready to stop trading hours for dollars and start leading like the strategic asset she already is. It's for the founder who's done doing it all alone and is ready to build a team that actually runs. And it's for every ambitious mama who was told to shrink ... and decided not to.

Expect candid conversations, zero corporate fluff, and the kind of real talk that makes you feel seen and activated.

  • 137. Less Is More: Reflections from Bre on Scaling, White Space, and What's Next
    Oct 29 2026
Summary In this solo episode, Bre steps away from her usual guest interviews to share founder reflections. She covers why she loves the virtual assistant (VA) industry, what she learned this year by cutting back to focus on what works, how rebuilding her team created more time, and what she's planning for 2027. That includes a book, a new interview show and more white space in her calendar. Key takeaways and topics The VA industry as a path into business. VAs get steady monthly income and long term clients. They also get an inside look at how successful businesses run. From there, they can build an agency or scalable offers that don't depend on their time. Trust the pull. Bre never imagined hosting her own conference, appearing on TV or reaching thousands of women when she began. Early goals like 5k months turned into something much bigger. Less is more. She ended the Twivva marketplace idea before launch. She turned the VAVA app into a bonus for VA Leadership Academy students. She also dropped a low ticket funnel and decided not to host another conference. Each of these competed with her flagship offer. Rebuilding the team. She spent the summer reshaping her team and had a slower revenue stretch in July and August. After that, September and October were "explosive" months. Hiring lesson. She interviewed about ten senior sales leaders and realized she could build the data and dashboards herself. She then hired a great team to run those functions. Creating white space. By the end of the year she will finish her mastermind and private coaching, to leave room for whatever comes next. What's next for 2027. Finish her book, The New Way Women Work, which is about portfolio careers.Keep growing her local TV segment, which she has hosted since August.Launch a second podcast, a talk-show-style interview show. Family and balance. Frequent speaking trips this year were hard with three young children. She thanks her husband and plans to be more selective in 2027. Thought leadership. Her Instagram stays VA-focused, but she wants to share more of her broader perspective. Notable quotes "I train virtual assistants, but that's not really what I do. I help create freedom and autonomy for women.""Trust the pull... oftentimes there is an even bigger plan out there than you can even imagine.""Entrepreneurs, right? We're creating from the unseen.""What I have really learned this year in business is that less is more.""You just cut everything except the things you do really well, and then you do more of those things.""I'm just listening to the knowing."
