Episode 1: You Never Know Who’ll Walk Through the Door: Psychic Medium Juanita Szafranski
    27 Aug 2026

Welcome to the very first episode of the AJ’s Lodge & Oven podcast!

We’re coming to you from the shores of beautiful Lake Gogebic in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where there’s never a shortage of great stories—or interesting people who find their way through our doors.

For Episode 1, Mary Beth sits down with someone who has become a special part of the AJ’s family: Juanita Szafranski—kitchen manager, friend…and psychic medium.

Juanita shares how she ended up working at AJ’s, what life is really like behind the scenes in our kitchen, and the fascinating story of her life as a psychic medium—including her experiences assisting with missing-person searches.

It’s funny, heartfelt, a little unexpected, and a pretty perfect introduction to what this podcast is all about: AJ’s, Lake Gogebic, life in the U.P., hospitality, family, and the remarkable people we meet along the way.

Because around AJ’s, everybody has a story—and you truly never know who’s going to walk through the door.
