Following Jesus isn’t always easy. Sometimes obedience feels costly, faithfulness feels heavy, and the calling God has placed on your life requires more strength than you think you have. During Holy Week, we reflect on Jesus’ words from the cross, “I thirst,” and the deeper meaning behind them—the willingness to drink the full cup of suffering in order to fulfill the Father’s will.
In this guided prayer from the Seven Sayings of Jesus, we ask God for courage to stay faithful when the road is difficult and the cost of discipleship feels real. Jesus didn’t turn away from the cross, and through His example, He shows us how to keep going even when obedience is hard.
