In which Bethanie and Ash discuss chapters 11-13 of Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead. Rose and Lissa arrive at the Moroi Royal Court, where Lissa nervously prepares to meet Queen Tatiana, confronting past humiliation and the pressures of royal expectations. During the meeting, Lissa boldly challenges traditional views on healing magic, surprising the queen and signaling her growing confidence and desire for change. Meanwhile, Rose reconnects with Mia, whose transformation after past trauma highlights themes of growth, resilience, and shifting relationships.Tensions rise among the group as Adrian’s influence creates jealousy between Lissa and Christian, while Rose attempts—unsuccessfully—to mediate, reflecting her increasing maturity and frustration. Rose also shares a meaningful moment with Adrian, softening her perception of him and revealing her emotional complexity. The stakes escalate when Rose receives a note from Victor, prompting her and Dimitri to secretly confront him in prison, where his manipulative nature and vision of rebellion become clear. Victor’s unsettling interest in Lissa’s power and Rose’s abilities deepens the sense of danger, while Dimitri’s fierce protectiveness underscores the intensity of their bond.
