Beautifully tender and unforgettably funny, prepare to fall in love with this modern-day nod to a classic romantic comedy.

Ever since their chance encounter as seatmates on the plane ride from hell, Harry “Harrison” Fields and Harry “Henry” Lee have had a love-hate relationship. But every time their paths have crossed over the years, they’ve grown to like each other more and more, even developing an unlikely friendship.

Now, Harrison is a fun-loving music teacher who wears his heart on his sleeve, and Henry is a hard-driving business man who’s still striving to get out of his father’s shadow.

As they go through life’s inevitable heartaches and losses, their friendship only deepens. Sure, there’s always been a simmering attraction between them, but nothing worth threatening their friendship over...until one of them takes things too far. But when a valuable friendship hangs in the balance, is a chance at romance worth the price?

wholesome, cute friends to lovers story. I enjoyed this lighthearted book very much! only the audio quality seemed a bit off, but nothing too bad.

A very wholesome love story!

Kurzweilig

Predictable story, gave me some chuckles and there's that.
Has some recording inconsistencies, probably, due to narrators working from home.
Still, good light-hearted listening experience.

So cliché...

... you gotta love this. It has got everything from misunderstandings and hurt and fights to big speeches and weddings and happily-ever-afters.
I could picture this story as a movie, heavy on symbols and clichés - and I love this kind of movies! But I think you have to watch them with a blind spot for logic.
If you let yourself sit back and be entertained, this is a great book without cutting too deep.
I liked Henry and Harrison a lot (I don't know why someone would nickname a Henry as Harry but... okay. It made room for a great title). Also how they navigated from strangers who didn't like each other to friends to lovers. It was a convinving and beautiful shift.

Spoiler for the ending: //

But i think the happy end would've been way more convincing if they had talked some more. If they'd rebuild their trust in each other. I don't think Harrison's and Henry's romance needed this rush to feel romantic. It felt a bit... uncharacteristic for them.
The story worked with a lot of time skips and I would've loved to get their getting-together and a skip to their engagement, maybe with a date already set. This would've felt way more like Henry, I think. If he acknowledged Harrison's bad experience with long engagements like this.
But I guess this was meant to show that he gets out of his characteristics to be extra romantic? ... idk it was too much for me to stay in character. (Also this conversation about kids?! If they'd just agreed on adopting some in the future but right after the honeymoon? This feels nothing like Henry or Harrison who both thought Malika and Christopher were rushing things.)

But this is criticism on a high level. I was very entertained by this story and loved the characters and how their relationship deepened and grew more meaningful.
So if you love cheesy rom-coms - give it a shot.
