She enjoys to suffer in self pity. That’s not Lizzy.
I believe that authors should refrain from writing variations of story’s, if they cannot even get the real character of the main characters straight.
I understand that she has been treated badly for a while but she didn’t complain, she never once told anyone what she wants and agrees complacently whenever nessesary. And than complaints about: “ no one ever asked me what i want to do.”
Well. That’s not the original E. She would let nothing stand in her way.
Why the author chose to slander the canon I do not know, but here it is.
I do not like her in this situation.
Darcy is spineless too. He can’t go three steps without his mama cannot send her away after all she has done. She not even suffered consequences but a few stern looks. He’s threatening with exile if she miss-behaves, but does not send her away when she purposefully ruins one evening after another.
The real Darcy would have send her away to his estate in Scotland and that would be that.
This business with her only serves to drag the whole sorry thing on and on.
And makes it more tiresome by the minute.
Very well performed. The narrator is a favorite of mine. Sadly the contents doesn’t measure up to the performance.
Really sad.
