Der Autor begründet sämtliche Thesen anhand von Passagen aus der Bibel und verstrickt sich dadurch in einer Fülle von rückwärts gerichteten Ansichten. Wenn Sie glauben, daß Christen nach einer Scheidung in die Hölle gehören, dann liegen sie ziemlich genau auf einer Wellenlänge mit Rick Warren. Er macht sehr deutlich, daß die Menschen nicht bibeltreu genug leben und beschreibt einen Gott, der nicht großzügig und liebend ist, sondern geradezu blutrünstig und strafend.Die Art wie Warren vorliest gleicht einer sehr aggressiv vorgetragenen Predigt, so daß die Negativität seiner Botschaft noch mehr schlechte Stimmung zurückläßt, als der reine Inhalt allein bereits tun würde. Er liest immerhin ziemlich deutlich, so daß sich keine Verständnisprobleme ergeben, deshalb immerhin zwei von fünf Sternen für den Sprecher.
