To the Jockey Club, the racing world would be a better place without Julius Apollo Filmer. An expert in corruption with a devastating line in witness intimidation, and proving to be a slippery character to put behind bars. Baffled, they call in undercover security agent Tor Kelsey to keep an unflinching eye on Filmer and his associates. A mission that takes him from the finest of English racecourses to the wild Canadian interior, on a luxury transcontinental train journey to end them all. On board, a troupe of actors are playing out a murder mystery to amuse their wealthy passengers. Ideal cover for a secret investigator with secrets of his own. And ideal cover, as it turns out, for an ice cool blackmailer with murder on his mind.©1988 Dick Francis (P)2014 Bolinda Publishing Pty Ltd. Hat mir super gefallen. Ich liebe die Hörbucher von dick fransis. Perfekt für die Autofahrt

Echt spannend

Eine einmal mehr interessante und außergewöhnliche Perspektive des Rennsports, wie immer spannend und unvorhergesehen präsentiert. Schade, dass es schon vorbei ist...

Spannung von Anfang bis Ende

great story and actually well read, so a lot of fun and very enjoyable.
unfortunately the audio quality is abysmal, worse than the good old tape recorder, changing in volume and background noise between story parts or chapters... really sad to partially ruin such a great story by the delivery.

One of the best Dick Francis novels!

Leider war die Tonqualität nicht so gut, ich musste die Lautstärke immer wieder korrigieren bzw anpassen.

Gute Geschichte mit schlechtem Ton

The story is good, and the reader has a really nice voice.
But the quality of the recording is absolutely dreadful. It sounds like a 1950s radio program with bad reception. Crackling, distortions and uneven volume included. Did the force the reader to sit in a tin can and put a cloth over the microphone?!

Horrible sound quality
