One life. Many roads. Which one will Alex choose?
France 1734. Alex has only one wish to live with his clan in his beloved Scotland, and one day to lead them as chieftain. But recognising his abilities, his father has more ambitious plans for him, and sends him to study in Paris, hoping that one day he will be able to make the MacGregors legal again.
Homesick and unhappy, Alex tries to make the most of his time abroad, eager to please his father and make him proud.
When a chance meeting opens up new possibilities, Alex has to decide whether to choose the certainty of personal happiness or to risk everything to pursue far greater goals.
A sequel to The Highlanders Tale, this book continues the story of Alex MacGregor, now a young man, as he continues his journey through adolescence into adulthood, learning the skills he will need to survive his unique destiny.

Wonderful historical fiction! Excellent read! - Diana Gabaldon
