Vielleicht bin ich einfach zu nüchtern drauf, aber das Buch hat mich samt Sprecherin nervös gemacht. Dauernd gab es Drama, Schmerz und tapferen Umgang damit. Dazu eine Sprecherin, die tragisch betonte. Es tropften die Tränen, es wurde zusammengebrochen vor Schmerz, sich gekrümmt und sich gestützt usw... . Klar - das waren alles keine einfachen Schicksale, aber ich ziehe subtiler gestaltete Bücher vor und war deshalb hier etwas falsch.
Abgesehen davon mochte ich den Humor (oder Schutzmechanismus) der weiblichen Hauptperson nicht, diese Random-Fragen abzufeuern. Ich versteh schon, denke ich, was das sollte, aber es gefiel mir halt nicht. Nicht wirklich mein Buch. Als positiv verbuche ich, dass es trotz allem in gewisser Weise stringent und unterhaltsam war. Alle waren, wenn sie nicht gerade emotional derartig hochpowerten, auch eigentlich ganz nette Charaktere.

Mein erster Tijan. Eigentlich hat mich Charlie von Anfang an genervt. Nett fand ich das zusammenkommen mit Reese auf der Insel. Dann hat sie mich wieder total genervt. Dramaqueen, davon laufen, heulen.... sie war mir tatsächlich zu selbstbezogen, obwohl die Autorin sich Mühe gab, genau das Gegenteil zu erreichen. Außerdem wurde das Buch zum Schluss unnötig durch Episoden, welche die Handlung nicht voran bringen, in die Länge gezogen. Ja, hier merkt man, dass jedes einzelne Wort Geld bringt. Für mich war es auf jeden Fall nix.
