In this essential Star Wars Legends novel, the sequel to Heir to the Empire, Grand Admiral Thrawn’s sinister plan threatens to spell doom for the fledgling New Republic and its most iconic heroes.

The dying Empire’s most cunning and ruthless warlord, Grand Admiral Thrawn, has taken command of the remnants of the Imperial Fleet and launched a massive campaign aimed at the New Republic’s destruction. Meanwhile, Han Solo and Lando Calrissian race against time to find proof of treason inside the highest Republic Council—only to discover instead a ghostly fleet of warships that could bring doom to their friends and victory to their enemies.

Yet most dangerous of all is a new Dark Jedi, risen from the ashes of a shrouded past, consumed by bitterness, and scheming to corrupt Luke Skywalker to the dark side. Fantasy Opera kosmiczna Przygoda Science fiction

Exactly what I expected and wanted. This trilogy is to me still one of the best of the EU. And although this part takes some build-up time, I love each of the arcs and the steadily increase of suspense and action.

Still great

I think I don't need to write about the book. I always liked the Thrawn-Trilogy a lot, so I was a bit doubtful if an audiobook might spoil the stories for me.
But, what I hadn't really imagined from the short audio sample I listened to before buying " Heir to the Empire": Marc Thompson is a genius! He got every single person right, I think, and he is even able to read a Wookie (namely Ralrra).
I'm very happy with these 3 audiobook!

stunning narrator

After having read the trilogy long time ago, I was really excited to jump back into the story and the characters. Particularly the narrator makes the overall experience absolutely outstanding. Definitive recommendation !

Zahn knows how to write a story gripping and entertaining. Marc Thompson is the ideal reader that knows the caracters well and does great impersonation of the protagonists that lets you think you hear the protagonists speaking. Just great!
